Ma Journée (My Day)
Week 5: Aug 4th - Aug 7th
Ma Journée (French Immersion)
Join Ma Journée, a fun and interactive French language camp designed for young learners aged 5-8! Campers will explore the routines and activities that make up a typical day while building their French vocabulary through songs, games, crafts, and imaginative play. From waking up in the morning to bedtime stories, every moment is an opportunity to learn and practice French in a playful and supportive environment.
What to Expect:
The curriculum follows the rhythm of a child’s day, providing practical "mots du jour" (words of the day) that kids can use at home:
- Le Matin (The Morning): Start the day by learning vocabulary for routines like se réveiller (wake up), se brosser les dents (brush teeth), and prendre le petit déjeuner (have breakfast). Campers create "Ma Routine du Matin" posters to visualize their day.
- À l’École (At School): Explore the world of l’école! Campers learn the names of school supplies and classroom objects. Activities include role-playing as l’enseignant (the teacher) and les élèves (the students) while making "Mon Sac à Dos" (My Backpack) crafts.
- L’Après-Midi (The Afternoon): Dive into fun hobbies like jouer au parc (playing at the park) and faire de la peinture (painting). Campers learn vocabulary for sports and outdoor play while creating a "Calendrier des Activités" (Activity Calendar).
- Le Soir (The Evening): Practice vocabulary for winding down, such as prendre le dîner (having dinner) and mettre son pyjama (putting on pajamas). Campers craft "Mon Horloge du Soir" (My Evening Clock) and sing classic lullabies like "Au clair de la lune."
- Les Histoires et Rêves (Stories and Dreams): End the day with French storytime. Campers listen to simple French tales, act out their favorite scenes, and create "Mes Rêves" (My Dreams) drawings to share with the group.
Why Choose Our Camp?
- Immersive Routine-Based Learning: By focusing on daily activities, we make French feel like a natural part of a child's life rather than a "subject" to study.

À l'Aventure en Ville (Adventure in the City)
Week 6: Aug 10th - Aug 14th
À l'Aventure en Ville (French Immersion)
Get ready to explore the sights and sounds of the city with À l'Aventure en Ville, an immersive French language camp designed for curious young adventurers aged 5-8! Each day, campers dive into the exciting world of city life—discovering landmarks, transportation, food, and more—all while building their French vocabulary through fun, hands-on activities and engaging outdoor adventures.
What to Expect:
We turn the city into a playground for language learning, focusing on "les mots de la rue" (street words) and practical civic vocabulary:
- Les Transports en Ville (City Transportation): From les autobus (buses) and les vélos (bicycles) to le métro (subway), campers learn how to navigate the urban world. Activities include creating custom city maps and role-playing buying tickets in French.
- Les Monuments et les Bâtiments (Monuments and Buildings): Discover famous landmarks like la tour (tower), le musée (museum), and la bibliothèque (library). Campers build 3D models of city structures and learn simple phrases to describe their architectural features.
- Les Parcs et les Espaces Verts (Parks and Green Spaces): Explore the nature found in the heart of the city! Campers learn vocabulary for plants, flowers, and le terrain de jeu (playground) while participating in nature scavenger hunts in local urban parks.
- Les Marchés et la Nourriture (Markets and Food): Visit a local market (or create a pop-up market in class!) to learn about les fruits, les légumes, and les pâtisseries. Campers role-play shopping and prepare simple French snacks like les crêpes.
- Les Métiers en Ville (Jobs in the City): Meet the people who keep the city running! From le boulanger (the baker) to le pompier (the firefighter), campers dress up and role-play as community helpers while learning to describe different professions.
Why Choose Our Camp?
- Real-World Context: By learning French through "City Life" themes, children build a vocabulary they can see and use every time they step outside.
- Active Engagement: Each day includes field trips or outdoor excursions, ensuring that language learning is never confined to a desk.
- Creative Civic Pride: Campers gain a deeper appreciation for their local community while mastering a second language.

Les Animaux et la Nature (French Immersion)
Embark on a nature-filled adventure with Les Animaux et la Nature, an immersive French language camp designed for young explorers aged 5-8! Through hands-on activities, nature-inspired crafts, songs, and outdoor exploration, campers will discover the fascinating world of animals and the environment while building their French vocabulary and language skills in a fun and engaging way.
What to Expect:
Each day introduces new French "mots clés" (key words) through immersive, play-based themes:
- La Forêt Mystérieuse (The Mysterious Forest): Dive into the magical world of the forest. Campers learn French words for les arbres (trees), les animaux (animals), and les plantes (plants) while going on a nature scavenger hunt and creating "arbres en papier" (paper trees).
- Les Animaux de la Ferme (Farm Animals): Meet the animals of the farm! Learn names and sounds in French, sing traditional songs like "Dans la ferme de Mathurin" (Old MacDonald), and participate in role-playing games as les vaches (cows) and les cochons (pigs).

- Les Insectes et les Petites Bêtes (Insects and Little Creatures): Explore the tiny world of les coccinelles (ladybugs), les fourmis (ants), and les papillons (butterflies). Activities include a bug hunt and insect-themed crafts to reinforce new French vocabulary.
Why Choose Our Camp?
- Immersive Language Learning: We move beyond rote memorization; children acquire French naturally through physical play, music, and artistic creation.
- Nature-Focused Discovery: By connecting language to the physical world, children develop a stronger "memory anchor" for new words.
- Supportive & Playful: This camp provides a "low-stress" environment where making mistakes is part of the fun, helping kids build a positive relationship with a second language.
Who Should Attend?
Les Animaux et la Nature is perfect for kids aged 5-8 who are:
- Beginners: Children with little to no French experience who want a fun introduction.
- Early Learners: Students in French Immersion or Core French looking to maintain their skills over the summer.
