Our experienced team of Vancouver school teachers lead all of our summer camps, providing exceptional levels of safety, enjoyment and education. Camps run from 9am – 3pm, with optional pre-camp and/or after-camp supervision services available for those who need a little extra time.

Week 1: July 3rd - 7th
Pearformers (Ages 10-14)
Calling all young performers and aspiring stars! Pear Tree’s Pearformers course is the perfect way to explore the exciting world of dance, theatre, and musical theatre. From the bright lights of Broadway to the West Broadway stage, our course has it all!
No matter if you’re new to acting, dancing, or singing, or already have some experience, we’ll start with the basics and guide you towards creating your own amazing small group performances. And if you’re feeling confident enough, you’ll even have the opportunity to shine in a solo performance!

Photo(shop) (Ages 10-14)
Are you looking to take your photography skills to the next level and learn how to enhance your photos using Adobe Photoshop? Pear Tree’s Photo(shop) camp is the perfect opportunity for you!
During the camp, you’ll get to capture daily themes with your own digital camera and refine your pictures through editing. Plus, you’ll create an online portfolio to showcase your stunning creations to your family and friends.
Please remember to bring your own digital camera to the camp.

Film School (Ages 10-14) – 4 x SPACES REMAINING!
Are you ready for an adventure filled with action, drama, and comedy? We’re creating a theatrical movie in just one week, and we want YOU to join our team!
Whether you love acting, directing, filming, editing, writing, or making music, we have a role for you. You’ll get to work alongside a talented team and discover if you have what it takes to make it in the movie industry.

Week 5: July 31st - August 4th
Energy (Ages 10-14) – 5 x SPACES REMAINING!
Energy is vital to our way of life, and finding sustainable and abundant sources of it is an exciting challenge that affects us all. That’s why we’re offering a 4-day Energy course that will be fun and engaging for your 10-14 year old!
During the course, we’ll explore different forms of energy and how we use electricity to power our world. We’ll conduct hands-on experiments and ask thought-provoking questions that will get everyone thinking.
Using copper tape and LED lights, we’ll create soft-circuits that will help students understand how simple circuits work. From there, we’ll move on to more complex projects with breadboards and Arduinos.
In addition to our experiments, we’ll also examine chapters from the novel The City of Ember to explore what life would be like with a limited amount of electricity. This will help us appreciate the importance of sustainable energy sources.

Week 6: August 8th - 11th (4-day week)
Artificial Intelligence (Ages 10-14) – 7 x SPACES REMAINING!
Join us at Pear Tree’s ‘A.I.’ camp, where we explore the fascinating world of artificial intelligence through the inspiring short story ‘Supertoys Last All Summer Long’ by Brian W. Aldiss (which inspired the film ‘A.I.’).
Not only will your child have a blast, but they will also expand their math capabilities through activities that enhance spatial reasoning and problem solving.
Our A.I. camp is designed to be both educational and fun, as your tween develops a foundational understanding of programming by using various apps and problem-solving challenges with our very own Dash robot, ‘Peary’. Your child will gain interdisciplinary skills that will help them succeed in the future.

Week 7: August 14th - 18th
Flight (Ages 10-14) – 5 x SPACES REMAINING!
Are you fascinated by flight, just like the first humans who saw creatures soaring through the skies? Our Flight course is designed to explore the science and wonder of flight, both in nature and in human inventions like planes, helicopters and drones.
As part of the course, we’ll learn about the physical characteristics of birds and how they affect their ability to fly. We’ll also delve into the science and math behind flight, and even create an infographic to show how the size and shape of birds and planes impact their ability to soar.
But that’s not all – this is a hands-on course that’s perfect for kids aged 10-14 and their parents. We’ll be testing out different types of paper airplanes to see how design affects performance, creating wing prototypes to see which ones create the most lift, and even building a glider out of balsa wood using all the knowledge we’ve gained.
So come join us on this exciting journey of discovery and let’s explore the wonders of flight together!

By booking 4 weeks or more of our Vancouver summer camps, you could save up to 20% off our regular price. We’re confident you won’t find a better value-for-money Vancouver summer camp! Prices are for 5-day weeks. On weeks with statutory holidays, the price will be calculated for the actual number of days. This applies to our Hot Lunch program, too.
