The Arrival – Interpretation (Kyle & Cindy)

NOTES FOR THE ARRIVAL

Page 1&2: written by Cindy

There is a mother and father. It looks like they are packing something. They might have a child (drawing on wall). They are drinking some tea. It looks like the time period is in the past. They look sad and poor (no luxuries). They pack a picture of their family into a suitcase. Maybe the child is gone or DEAD. L They are in an old house; most of their belongings are not new. It looks like they are planning to travel somewhere or are moving away from their house.

Family is dressed ready to leave the house. Walking beside very old building. Strange shadow in shape of dragon’s tail. Building is tall and old. Very dark. Possibly winter because they are dressed warmly. There are 3 people possibly mom dad and child. Everything looks like it is made out of brick. They could’ve left their house with one window (looks abandoned). Possibly in a European country. It could be morning because they woke up. They ate breakfast and then dressed. It probably takes place in the past. It could be based on real life. It looks like they are leaving their home and going to arrive somewhere according to the title (The Arrival).
